Trip to San Antonio

Derek, the girls and I headed to San Antonio to visit my cousin and her family. She has a 4yr old, Owen and 2 yr old, Kyndall. We had such a good time. Nikel was our tour guide the whole weekend.
First day, we headed to McDonald's for lunch. The kids sat at one table and we sat at the other. It was nice to not have to sit at the kid table. ha! They played for a while at McDonald's then it was off to the zoo!!


2 year olds get in free at the zoo so it was cheap entertainment for us. We had the stroller but Owen and Kyndall rode in it more then the girls. Our tour guide, Nikel (my cousin), knew all the places to go and the best animals to see.





We stopped to take a snack break after the elephants. Nikel packed CapriSuns and chips ahoy cookies. Can you tell she does this a lot?!



Our last stop was to feed the fishes. The kids loved that! They each had their own pile of food.
I called Mom to tell her all about the zoo as soon as we got in the car to leave. Derek checked the girls and they were knocked out. I had only been on the phone for 3 minutes and 40 seconds. That is a new record for getting the girls to sleep!!


We met Chad for dinner after the zoo. Lots of restaurants have huge playsets outside for the kids and most the adults are at the bar. It was a long night but the kids loved playing on the slide.

The next day, we got up and hit the road for Sea World!! We were there all day and the girls were so good! We hit every bathroom there too!
Our first stop was the Sea Lion show. The girls liked it when the sea lions got in the water. They sprayed the audience and it was hilarious. The girls liked that part too! All the kids did great - Derek had the 3 girls sitting with him. haha!




Next stop was SHAMU!!! Mr. Shamu and Mrs. Shamu had baby Shamu in January so there are 3 big whales now! Mrs. Shamu was pregnant for 17 months and baby Shamu was 350lbs. Geez - can you just imagine that?!! No thanks!



We stopped for a quick lunch. Nikel and I entertained the kids while Chad and Derek got the food. Nikel took the kids to the bathroom and when I got in there Grace had locked the stall door and wouldn't let me in. She kept yelling "I'm going potty!" haha! Finally she opened the door for me. Geez, that is a little scary cause I really didn't want to crawl on the floor to get the door opened. Yuck! The kids all sat on one side so our table looked funny cause it was adults vs. kids.






The girls favorite part was the splash zone. Ava had the most fun! Owen and Grace were a little more cautious. Ava and Kyndall were head first into all the fountains. Ava hopped the entire time we were there.






Nikel and Chad wanted to ride a roller coaster so we watched the kids and traded off when they got done. Derek had the kids running drills. haha! They loved it but it was hilarious when Owen and Ava were asking "can we take a break?" hahaha! Poor things! He had them running, hopping, side shuffles and backwards running down and back. I think his peewee football days were coming back to him. ha!


One last stop to see the fish, sharks, dolphins and a bald eagle then it was time to go home.








After Sea World, the girls feel asleep on their way back to Nikel and Chad's house. We finally wore them out instead of the other way around.
