January Update

This is how Grace sleeps. She looks like sleeping beauty and so peaceful. It's hard to believe this face could be so loud and ask a million questions. I just love this face!


About Grace......
Age - 4 years and 5 months old
Weight - 42lb
Height - 43.5"
Favorites - dancing and singing, salad, sour cream, being a princess, dressup, Pink, Rapunzel, Molly (Emily's dog), riding her new bike, the new lake house, helping Momma whether its opening blinds or cooking, swimming, Tom and Jerry
Dislikes - washing her hands, when Daddy leaves during the week, listening, guacamole, going to bed, waiting her turn

Grace is such a helper. She wants to help cook, clean, fold laundry, open blinds and wash dishes. She doesn't care what it is as long as she is helping. That means Derek and I need to enjoy it while it lasts and learn some patience. Going to bed is such a ritual for her. She doesn't ever want to miss out on anything so she will do anything to keep herself awake. Every night, and I mean every night, after we've put her to bed, she will come out to the living room and say "I forgot how to go to bed". And every night, Derek says "Get in bed, close your eyes and count to 20". I do not know why he says to count but that is what he tells her. It's rather amusing.
This girl loves to sing and dance. She sings every song on the radio even if she doesn't know all the words. She shakes her booty and does this skipping thing when she dances.
She likes to play with Ava as long as Ava just goes along with whatever she decides to play. She wants to be the leader in everything. She is very bossy!!

This is how Ava sleeps. She always looks like she just smashed into her pillow and fell asleep. Most nights I have to cover her up cause she never has her comforter over her. Not sure why she objects to having her blankets on her.

Dislikes - cleaning up the playroom, when Grace picks on her, strawberries, blueberries

Ava is such a Daddy's girl. She wants to do whatever her Daddy is doing. Ava will usually let Grace pick what they are playing but there are times when Ava shows her she has had enough. Grace will constantly pick on her and Ava, in her whiney voice, says "Stoooooop Grace".
Ava loves to set the table and make her own plate at dinner. She is such a big girl.
The iPad is Ava's new best friend. She will do anything for time on the iPad. Her favorite game right now is Labrinth. Grace can't figure that game out and it frustrates her that Ava can do something she can't. Angry birds is her second favorite. She gets so excited when she unlocks new levels. I was watching her play one day and I said "hit the red bird and split him." She said to me "the red ones don't split". She said it like "duh" or "I got this so don't worry about it." haha!
