July - lake, birthdays and more birthdays

We went to the lake over July 4th.  We left Wednesday night and stayed through the weekend.  Luckily, there was still enough water to get the boat out.  We even took the girls tubing.  Our boat doesn't go very fast so they weren't flying all over the place.  They loved it and wanted to keep going.  It was a great way to wear them out.

We had Missy and the boys out on Saturday and they spent the night.  We went swimming out in the lake.  The sun and engine noise made them all so sleepy!  They all went to bed quick that night.

 Derek's mom had suite tickets for the Beyonce concert.  I thought the concert was on Friday night, so Derek and I got all dressed up and drove in for the concert.  We got to Rockwall and I noticed no one on facebook was talking about Beyonce so I looked at the tickets to see the concert was really on Saturday night.  I looked at Derek and said "Don't be mad!  But the concert is tomorrow."   Oops because he told me all day that he thought the concert was Saturday.  I am still hearing about this mistake.  So all dressed up, Derek and I headed to Home Depot and ate at Mi Cocina.  Mom was at the lake with the girls and shocked when we walked in the door at 9pm.  haha!
Missy lucked out because Derek gave her his ticket so the two of us could go.  We left all the kids with Mom and Derek and we headed to Dallas.  Beyonce was AMAZING!!!  Great concert and awesome seats in the suite!  Thanks Derek for giving up your ticket!

For Derek's birthday, we went to dinner at a mexican restaurant then came home for cake and presents.  Clint and Carla joined us for cake and presents.  It was fun to visit with them.

During the summer, we had several play dates with their school friends.  We had Addison come over one day to eat Chickfila and swim at the pool.  Addison is Ava's BFF from Mrs. Fox's class.  The 3 of them had so much fun.

We went to Hawaiian Falls one day with Madison and her momma.  What a fun day of going down slides, swimming in the wave pool, eating huge snow cones and a picnic lunch.  They were so exhausted when we got home that we watched a movie and an early bedtime.

Celebrated Papa's birthday the right way...with CAKE!  These girls love July because there is so much cake.

Another play date with Claire.  We hung out at the splash park.  These girls ate the whole cooler of snacks.

Grannie and Poppy kept the girls the week of July 22nd so they could go to tennis camp again.  They did really well and enjoyed it.  While the girls were gone, Derek and I rearranged their bedrooms to add a reading nook for each of them.  We put Grace's beds on the other wall.  We only had to move Ava's bed over a little bit to have room for her chair.  When they got home, they were so excited.

With their birthday money, the girls got their first pedicure.  All they did was use the chair and have their toes painted.  They loved it.
