2 month check up - Sept 27th, 2007

The girls had their 2 month check up yesterday with Dr. Nail. We were all guessing how much the girls weighed and who weighed the most. The results are in and Grace is the winner at 9lbs 12oz. Ava is now 9lbs 8oz. They both are growing like weeds. Their height is the same at 21.8". They grew an inch each over the last month.

Since they didn't know when Grace had her Hep B shot in the nicu they waited to give them both their second Hep B shot yesterday. So they had a total of 5 shots. The nurse was worried they wouldn't have enough thigh to get all 5 shots. She told me their thighs would probably be sore and have little knots in them since the medicine didn't have anywhere to go. Poor things! They screamed and turned completely RED when they got the shots but once the pricking was done they were fine. They just wanted to be held and I had no problem with that part. Derek did the hard part - he helped hold them to give the shot.

We stopped at CVS to get some tylenol and gripe water. Dr. Nail said to use some gripe water for Ava's gas. She just can't seem to get her burps out and I've only used it after 2 feedings so far and she has gotten the loudest and biggest burps I've heard from her. So it works for Ava. Grace has no problem getting a big burp out. She takes after her Auntie Em. haha! That tylenol makes them sleepy. They slept all afternoon and into the night. I only fed them once around dinner time and then they went to bed and got up at 6:30ish this morning.
After their doctors appt we took them next door to my OB, Dr. Greenberg, so they could get a picture with him. He is so busy that I'm glad we could even get back there to see him. He took a quick picture so now the girls know who delivered them.


Last Saturday, 22nd, we took Charles to lunch so he could see his little sisters. He is such a good big brother. He loves his sisters. He got to hold Grace for the first time since she was in the nicu when he saw her. Here are some pics of him w/ the girls.
