Memorial Day weekend at the Lake

We left Friday after work for the lake. Mom and Dad headed down early to clean up and mow. Clint and Carla were already at their lake house. We had to stop at Best Buy and get a new TV for the living room. YEAH! The girls had to play with the box once we got the TV up! They had a blast!







After bath time, Dad read them some stories. Of course, Grace (miss Boss) had to tell Grandpa what to do!



On Saturday, Emi and Chris joined us. Then Clint and Carla came over to see the girls. Clint helped Derek smoke the chickens for Sunday's feast. Dad and Bailey finished mowing. Derek got the boat ready to put in the water. It's time to have a boat in the dock again!! There has been so much rain this spring so we have plenty of water in the cove! Clint had to ride on the boat with Derek for the first ride of the season!










Once the girls went down for a nap, then Mom, Carla, Emi and I went shopping. Main St. in Quinlan has some cute shops and I'm looking for antique stuff to decorate the girls big girl room. We had a good time. It was pouring down rain in town so we got drenched! Here are some cute pics of the girls eating a snack. Ava's new trick was playing with the cooler. Grace just got done going potty and thought she needed to air dry!




When we got back we got ready for the first boat ride! Little did we know what was about to happen!! We get the house locked up, girls in their life jackets, everyone aboard and go to crank the boat...it won't crank. We keep trying and we're floating out from underneath the covered dock. We finally get it started and the bottom falls out from the sky! It's POURING down rain! We didn't even get past the dock...THANK GOD! So there was a reason the boat didn't crank. So we parked it back in it's spot and waited for the rain to die down to go back inside.





Brush those teeth! CHEESE!


On Sunday, we took a boat ride in the morning thinking we would get further. We did get out of the cove and about 15 minutes of a boat ride but had to turn around and go home. Rain rain go away!!!







Sunset cruise just to say we got the boat out. The girls love the boat! They hopped from one person to the next looking for a good seat!





Had to have a little watermelon on the boat!



Sunday night we gave Mom a birthday present early. More for selfish reasons but it was fun! We had a blast playing Dance Dance Revolution on the Wii!!!



On Monday, Mom's 60th Birthday, the weather was absolutely PERFECT! We had breakfast on the deck. The girls thought they were so cool in their chairs and table.

After breakfast we all got on the boat and took a ride all the way to Clint and Carla's house. It was a blast! The girls waved at every boat and said "Hi!". Grace would yell "there they go!" It only took us 20 minutes on water to get there.




The girls had to get a drink of water when we got to Grannie and Poppy's house! They were so thirsty! They were running all over the place!





We celebrated Mom's birthday with cake and presents. Then we celebrated by cleaning the lake house and heading back to reality! haha! All in all it was a very fun weekend with everyone. Can't wait for the next big weekend at the lake! Happy 60th Birthday Mom!!
